The Brief
Franco of Canberra asked us to develop eye catching and modern signage to promote their trendy hair salon. The philosophy adopted by us was to show the viewer that not only had Franco’s been the longest running salon in Canberra, but also show that it is well up to speed with current trends.

By using simple but elegant images taken from Franco’s recent National Hair Competition victories, we used their stylish shots of modern cuts to show the quality of their work.

The Brief
The National Association of Forest Industries issues an annual report, as required by ASIC.
The brief that made this report different was that it should be appealing enough to sit on coffee tables. The report needed colour, images and a look that proudly reflected the industry. The task was complex and included photographing images and deep etching them, along with satisfying the company requirements of presenting the fiscal information.

ByFriday used diverse cultural images, representing all walks of life to make the information inviting and appealing to all nationalities.

The design was successfully used in press ads, printed programs and guidelines, event invitations, certificates, and signage.

The Brief
Whyte & Di Placido invited ByFriday and several other agencies to tender a proposal incorporating a name change and redesign in logo and material.
ByFriday was successful in both name recommendation (to Accrue) and in the design of the logo.

The brief included instructions to find a strong business name, brand the company with a new look and incorporate the look into a sophisticated group of colours.
